Estratto di mappa (map extract)

In short

The estratto di mappa (map extract) is the piece of cadastral map around a parcel: boundaries, numbers, buildings and the scale of the drawing. It is the document that answers the question “where does my land end”, and it is also the one you can look at for free on the map.

How to get it · from us

Do you need the official extract for an application?

iThe map extract issued by the cadastre, as a PDF: the piece of map around the parcel, with the scale and the office heading. No SPID needed, you pay by card from any country. Usually ready in a few minutes · you pay at checkout, then we fetch it.

The document at a glance

What it contains
The drawing of the parcel boundaries · the parcel numbers · the buildings with their outline · the scale and orientation · the sheet it belongs to
What it is for
Attaching it to a building application or a subdivision, understanding where a boundary runs, checking that the land in the listing is the one you think.
Who can request it
Anyone.
Where to request it
From us with no SPID, paying by card from any country. With SPID or CIE in the online reserved area of the Agenzia delle Entrate (Italian Revenue Agency), or at the counter of the provincial office.
What it costs
€12.90 from us. At the Agenzia it is free online for those with SPID or CIE, and at the counter it carries its own special cadastral fees.
How long it takes
From us usually a few minutes. Immediate online with SPID.
Legal value
No, and this is the source of a costly misunderstanding: the cadastral map is not proof of boundaries (art. 950 of the Italian Civil Code). The real boundary is decided by the title, not by the drawing.
What it does not say The cadastral boundary is not the legal boundary. The map was made for tax, not to divide properties: where the two do not match the deed prevails, and the difference is measured on site with a surveyor.

You can already see it on the map

This is the only row in this list where the document and what we give are the same thing. We publish the Agenzia's cadastral map for all of Italy except Trento and Bolzano: boundaries, parcel numbers, buildings and surface area can be viewed for free, with no SPID. If the question is “where does my land end” or “how big is it”, you do not need the official extract: you need to look at it.

The extract issued by the Agenzia is needed when someone asks for it in writing: a building application, a subdivision, an attachment to a deed.
